POETIC ELEMENTS IN THE STRUCTURE OF SAINT JOVAN VLADIMIR HAGIOGRAPHY
Abstract
The paper aims to identify poetic elements in the Hagiography of Saint Jovan
Vladimir. In Old Serbian literature, one may found poetic elements in all important prose
achievements, and above all in hagiographies. All hagiographies, from Saint Sava to Patriarch
Pajsije Janjevac, are largely researched and a numerous poetic elements were identified, while
this is not a case with Hagiography of Saint Jovan Vladimir. Serious works concerning this
Hagiography could not be found. Therefore, identification of poetic elements and analysing
structure of this Hagiography were great challenge, but also great difficulty.
