LOGICAL AND GNOSEOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF SOCIAL JUSTICE IN NEOPLATONIC PHILOSOPHER PROCLUS (412-485)
Abstract
The ontological system of Proclus (412- 485) is formed under the
conditions of a compromise of the sovereign, in its time, polytheism with a one-tier model
which has suggested Plato. In this attempt occurs and the negotiation of the «Ἰδέα» of
right which is the original premise of the concept of justice. We found this «idea» in the
metaphysic area and through its relation with justice, we find out that they both are
included in the form of relation image-prototype which dominates the ontological model of
Proclus. He finds the notion of justice as including a content of virtue with lawful force. We
focus here on its logical-practical parameter as it is clear the normative frame which
makes every rational individual soul to realize in mundane way the «Ἰδέα» of right. The
gnoseological parameter of social justice concerns firstly the gnoseological approach of
the «Ἰδέα» of right. Every human soul after having approached this «Ἰδέα», it shows it off
in practice through the social justice. However, the practical approach of the issue comes
first. Each individual soul having secured for itself a normative frame of principles through
the gnoseological method of «recollection» (anamnisis), tries to apply it in the collective
form where it is activated.
