CRITICAL REWIEV OF THEOLOGICAL THOUGHT OF VESELIN CAJKANOVIC
Abstract
This paper analyzes the process of nascence, fundamentals and conclusions of the religiological thought of Veselin Čajkanović. This analyses commences with intellectual and cultural contexts where this thought was conceived, identifying basic lines of its formation: Semler’s or the principle of universalism, textual critique, philological and comparative religiological research based on Schleimacher’s hermeneutical principles and the “evolutionary branch” – an orientation of the Religionsgeschichtliche schule. apart from the previous factors Cajkanovic’s thought was deeply influenced by the Roman Catholic modernism, while the lack of understanding of inculturation phenomenon – one of key terms related to evangelization of new peoples and establishing relationships between their previous religious forms and expressions and the arriving Gospel, remains one of its main challenges.
